The First Date

Places can connect us with people of our past and more importantly with lasting and intense emotions. In this audio piece a 19 year old female student (kept anonymous) from Wollongong, reflects on a place that she holds very dear to her heart and associates with her first times of intimacy as well as her first real heartbreak. After a set up by her friends and a lack of snorkelling experience she agreed to a date and developed a relationship which soon fell apart. Though she is not regretful, as we hear in this audio clip how she has moved on and found a sense of closure through an association with place and beauty.
